Post Xmas and Pre New Years

Image
Happy New Years! I have been more regular with the posting. One reason is because of school.  I am really trying to stay on task and to post weekly in my other blog.  My Accounting Journey.  Please read and any thoughts or encouragement are greatly appreciated.  Another reason is that this blog helps me to remember things that have happened with the family and thtat way I am able to share with you. My lovely reader. :) Ok, so Xmas has happened. :) It has been a busy vacation for the kids. It is halfway over and they have been doing all kinds of things.  They each got a fair amount of stuff from Santa and they also got a bunch of stuff from my in-laws. They really seemed to like all of their gifts. Jenna and I are going to be getting them some stuff from us once she gets paid. $$$$$ Andrea this year was really difficult to buy for. She's at that awkward age where kid toys aren't for her but she's not quite an adult. So what do you get a 13 year old that has...

4 Days till Xmas!

Merry Xmas! I hope that this post finds everyone in the Xmas mood or whatever holiday that you celebrate. I don't discriminate.  :) The kids are off from school and don't go back until January 5th.  Wow! That is a long break. We are about mid-way through the second quarter of the year. Both kids are doing good in school.  Andrea currently has all A's in her classes and Alyson got Purple for 6 days this month on her behavior chart. (Purple is the highest). Jenna started her new job at Capital One last Monday!  She seems to like it so far. I am starting my fourth week of class tomorrow. I would like to say that I am completely caught up, but that is not the case. I am caught up in Accounting and Statistics, but so very far behind in Marketing. I am trying to get caught up but it is hard with the holidays in full swing. Work is going good.  I have to work Xmas eve and the day after, but it pays the bills. :/ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year k ...

Weekly Posts Are Okay Right?

Well, another week closer to Christmas. We are 18 days away and we haven't got the tree up, still need to wrap and generally a million other things to accomplish.  It wouldn't be Christmas without some stress right.  LOL The kids have roughly 2 more weeks of school before their vacation. I think they are pretty excited. First Christmas in our new house. I know that I am.  Jenna starts her new job next week and I am finally getting over this blasted sinus infection that I have been battling for about a month. Andrea has had a pretty rough weekend. While putting away groceries, I asked her to take some frozen stuff down to the freezer in the laundry room, She managed to slide/fall down the second half of the stairs.  I feel really awful for her, she is very sore. Alyson had a much better weekned. Granted her bad weekend was last week. Nothing seemed to go right for the kid. This week at school she got 4 pink days which is awesome. Pink is the second to highest ...

Another year almost gone!

Image
It's officially December 1st. Oh my where has the time gone???? Well, we have so much to catch up on.  First of all, we moved in July of this year to Chesterfield, Va.  No, I'm by no means completely unpacked. LOL Secondly, I work from home now. I love it. It's so easy to say I'm going to work and be there by walking into my beautiful NYY themed office. I love it. Jenna is legally Jenna now. This has been a long time coming so it's nice to see the process progressing. Also, Jenna got a job!  Yes, I'm so proud of her. I know that she has been unhappy because the job market felt like it had turned it's back on her but she start on Dec. 15. YEAH!!! First Quarter ended for the kids at the end of October. Alyson did pretty well, she's still in that stage where they get letters like S and U and N. Basically, she needs to keep working on her writing skills.  We are really proud of her though. She has came so far with her challenges.  Andrea got 5 A...

From June to October

The move went pretty well. We have lived here since the end of July. That is Jenna and myself. The girls actually moved down at the beginning of July with their grandparents.  We have enjoyed many days outside for a change. The kids have been growing their bike skills. We all love living in Chesterfield. Alyson started First grade this year. Her teacher is Ms. Loviza.  We found out in July that she has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  I always kind of figured she did. The kid never stops.  She is like me in that way.  She is like a sponge in school. Absorbing everything at a rapid rate.  She also has speech this year. April of last year, the school said that she needed therapy twice a week. This year she has speech therapy once a week and I am not entirely convinced that she will need it all year. She is making leaps and bounds in her speech. Andrea started seventh grade this year.  She has four classes per day and I'm pretty sure that he...

June 2014 ~ Another Summer Upon Us

Image
It has been the entire school year since I last updated. I have been busy and most of the time don't know whether I'm coming or going. We are in the beginning of a move. Yes, I said it. A move. We will be relocating to Chesterfield, VA.  There are some really great schools there and it is cheaper to live there. I will be working from home which will be really nice. I have enjoyed living in Manassas but it is just too expensive to continue there.  Andrea is about 3 months away from being 13 years old.  I can't even imagine where the time has gone. She is finishing up her 6th grade year. She tries really hard in all of her classes and her efforts show.  She is harder on herself than anyone else could ever be.  She has started getting more into the television shows that her dad and I watch which is cool because she really seems to like them. She is so much like me that it is scary at times.  It's almost like I am getting to see myself grow up.  Andrea...
