August 20, 2017 - Sad Memories, Happy News, and Gearing Up for the School Year

Hey everyone!

Hope your summer has been going well. Ours has been interesting. Who am I kidding, our life is crazy and I never know what to expect next. I guess that's what keeps me going day to day. LOL

Well, let's go over the sad news first. August 20.  My mom's birthday. This day is really hard for me every year since I lost her. It has been 5 years since I got to spend a birthday with my awesome mom. I miss her more every single second of the day and think about how much of the kids' lives she has not gotten to enjoy with them.  Happy Birthday Debbie!  I love you mom!



Let's now move on to other news. I got a promotion!!!!! So stupidly happy about this one. I have only been at Cap One for 1 year and 5 months. I have had some great opportunities that I have enjoyed.  I accepted a position as a Sr. Operations Process Coordinator within a specialty fraud group. I am really looking forward to working in this department and with the group that is there.  Yeah!!!!

Aly's birthday is later this week. She will be the big 9!!!! My how times flies.  She is actually hard to buy for this year. I mean she made me a wish list, but usually that is not needed for her. I think my gift giving game is slipping....yikes!  She is prepping to start 4th grade. I can't even believe it.

Dre's birthday is in 3 weeks and a few days. She will be 16 (not sure about the sweet...lol)!  My baby girl is growing up so fast. I can't believe that she will be starting 10th grade this year. Staring to look at colleges and starting that whole process.

Jenna and I have just been working and trying to spend quality time with the kids this summer.

Little jealous of anyone getting to watch the eclipse. Please be safe when watching, I don't want anyone to go blind.

Well, I think that this post is pretty long, so I'm going to wrap it up. I will try to post more often but who am I kidding. The more I try the more behind I end up. LOL

Well, the kids have been in WV for about a week now. Yes, I'm going crazy without them. Luckily, we have the wonderful ability to see them through Skype. The girls seem to be enjoying their time with their grandparents. My mom is trying to help us out by attempting to get Aly potty-trained. She is fighting me tooth and nail on this. Weeks 37/38

Okay I'm 37 weeks and 6 days. I have a Dr appointment on Friday. James asked the doctor last week about inducing me and he said if I was dilated 2-3 cm. I'm hoping that this happens. I know I shouldn't complain but I'm just so tired of being pregnant and not being able to have control over things. Andrea started 1st grade this past week. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She seems to really like school and she has her own desk for the first time. She was completely thrilled that she does not have to take a nap during school every day. Unfortunately, the night before school started Andrea had a little accident. She was playing ball outside and the ball got away from her and started to go down over the small hill behind our house. She ran to get it and tripped on the sidewalk. First 3rd grade report card

Well as most kids and parents know, it is generally the end of the first semester of the school year. It is a stressful time of year for some kids as they do not know how their parents will react if their report card is not good. Andrea has always been one of those kids that thinks she is not doing well but knocks it out of the ball park. As was the case for this report card. She asked me one day if I would still love her if she didn't get As. I was sad that she asked me that question because no one should ever withhold affection over a grade. I immediately told her that it didn't matter to me if she got straight Fs, I would always love her. Before looking at her report card, I asked if she had tried her best and she said she had. That alone would have been enough for me. Just to let you know, she got straight A's of which I had no doubt.
