3rd week of January 2017

Hey all, So I have now posted 3 times in one month.  Holy Cow!!! Well this week was a bit interesting.  I got a phone call on Tuesday that Andrea was sick. :(  Poor kid got sick in the hallway at school. She was home until Friday. She's still not at 100% but she was no longer running a fever and she hadn't been ill in little more than a day.  So she trekked along to school.  Now she just has to get caught back up which stinks since she is near the end of her semester. Alyson didn't have such a bad week. She's been the only one to avoid getting sick in the house. Lucky kid. Jenna had an accident on Friday. I couldn't figure out why she wasn't at work at her normal time.  She then messaged me and let me know that the bathroom had claimed another casualty.  She fell but she is okay. Mostly just sore.  I'm seriously considering having her placed in a bubble, maybe then she wouldn't get injuries. Probably just wishful thinking. LOL My birthda...

January 2017 Halfway Point!

Well we had our first snow of 2017!  We got about 6-8 inches, it lasted for about 3 days and then it was 60-65 degrees. Craziness! Alyson lost a tooth on the 14th. It had been a while since the last one came out. Funny story. We were visiting in WV for Xmas 2015 and we were at the Microtel in Buckhannon. That is where Aly lost her last tooth. Bleeding and all I had to scramble to find some salt so that we could get it to stop. She was freaking out and I was just frazzled.  We got through it. This time, she told me like a month ago that it was loose. I told her to wiggle it. Fast forward to yesterday and I asked her about it and she hadn't been wiggling it.I told her to get to wiggling the tooth and then Jenna offered to get it out. Alyson freaked about because it was going to hurt. Jenna finally convinced her. Jenna said she wiggled it like twice and then tugged and it was out. Alyson didn't have the time to freak out cause it was done so fast. She told me today that she g...

First Snow of the Year in the Richmond Area

Well, my kids are happy.  They get to sleep in tomorrow since they have a snow day. We got our first snow of the year this weekend with any real accumulation.   We probably got around 3-6 inches, I'm not real great as measuring the amount. On an exciting note, we finally got to use the snow blower that we purchased last year. Yeah!!!!  We got it last year and then it never snowed again, doesn't that figure. LOL.  Well, Jenna and I took it out and dug out the driveway and front walkway in under 3 hours. Which is a vast improvement from the 6+ hours last year that Keith, Jenna and I worked to get the cars out. Alyson went out to play in the snow and lasted maybe 1/2 hour. She came in and told me she was done with it. She said that "you can't get anything done outside because it so cold".  That made me laugh. Dre didn't want anything to do with the weather. She has been closed up in her room as teenage-dom requires. LOL They called off work on Saturday bu...

January 2, 2017: A New Year, better resolutions

Hello everyone, Happy 2017! I let a few months slip by me again.  A lot has been going on in our little corner of the world. First off, I had a horrible semester and it was about 97% my own fault. I need to have better rules about getting my work done and the reading completed.  I have vowed to do better this semester. So if you see me slacking, tell me to go read some Accounting or Management.  I figured out that I must read a minimum of 9 pages per day to get it all done. Now that doesn't seem like a lot but can quickly add up when you're not looking. Secondly, Jenna's grandma passed away in December. It was a very hard loss for our family.  We had to travel to Ohio for the funeral.  It was a very nice service.  Thank you Lisa and family for sending food to the hotel. It was much appreciated. Thanksgiving happened somewhere in there. It was a good meal and we enjoyed having dinner with Keith and Linda as always. I don't remember much else as I w...
