Halloween and the end of First Quarter

Halloween was yesterday. I think the kids had a blast. Andrea was a witch and Alyson was a smurf. I made both of their costumes. I'm proud of myself for making them but they were a little hard. This is because I'm still learning to sew. The pattern said easy but if you have no one to show you and have to guess on some stuff, it's not as easy as it sounds, but I got them made and they turned out really cute. Each of the kids got a large bowl of candy, more than they will ever eat. J and I were completely exhausted by the end of the night.

We are rounding out our first quarter in home school. I can't believe I've been teaching Andi all this time. She is a really smart kid and I think that she is learning lots of new things. Yesterday, we had a full day of learning Halloween stuff. Coloring pictures, learning about spiders, doing cool projects. It was a lot of fun. I have to make her first report card, that actually sounds like fun to me. I really am a geek.

Alyson is learning lots of stuff too. I'm amazed at what she knows when I don't think she has a clue. She is also repeating everything I say. Guess who is trying to quit cussing again? Me, yep that's right.

We go to the doctor this week for their yearly checkups. I'm running a little behind on those because of all the craziness that happened with the cars. Hopefully, both kids will have grown within their age range. We will see.

Have a great November
